Joe Preston was born in Onaway on July 3, 1959 to Jerry D. Preston and Lucille (Byrnes) Preston. On October 5, 2001 he was married to Kimberly Corley in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Joe graduated from Onaway High School and returned to his hometown earlier this year. Joe worked as an Injection Moulder for UGN and coached both of his son's school basketball teams in Valparaiso. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping. He liked sports and coaching his sons on their various athletic teams. Joe was also an exercise enthusiast and enjoyed going to the gym.
He was survived by his
wife, Kim Preston of Collierville, Tennessee;
sons, Thomas Jay "TJ" Preston of Onaway and Zack Preston of Collierville, Tennessee;
mother, Lucille Zrakovi of Onaway;
sisters, Theresa (Bob) Arkwood and Sandy Brown (Cal Garms) both of Onaway and Marcy Preston of Florida;
brother, Thomas Preston of Savannah, Georgia;
and in-laws, Jack & Doreen Corley of Valparaiso.
brother-in-laws, Scott (Vivian) Corley of Little Rock, Arkansas, Daniel (Courtney) Corley of Knox, Indiana, and Devin and Wesley Corley both of Valparaiso;
sister-in-law, Kacie Corley also of Valparaiso;
14 nieces and nephews; and
several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Preston (2000); and nephew, Robbie Jackson.
