Born Oct. 25, 1929, in rural Hennepin to Luther and Frieda Geiler Allison, he married Maxine L. Clare on Feb. 9, 1963, in Chillicothe. She died Dec. 24, 1977.
He also was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Loretta Clare; one grandson; one greatgranddaughter; two brothers; and one sister.
Surviving are two sons, Luke of Peoria and Ronnie of Sparland; two stepsons, Chris Clare of Chillicothe and Larry Clare of Sparland; one brother, Dick Carter of rural Sparland; and three sisters, Emma Head of Sunrise Beach, Mo., Ruth Griswold of Princeton and Dorothy Brandenburg of Blythesville, Ark.
A Korean War Army veteran, he was a member of Walter Guede American Legion Post 593 in Lacon.
