Rachel Mattison Hankinson was the daughter of Aaron Mattison (b. June 15, 1680 in Scotland and d. April 27, 1762 in Freehold, Monmouth County, NJ.) and Elizabeth Wrightman Mattison (b. Dec. 3, 1682 in Scotland and d. Feb. 6, 1773 in Freehold, Monmouth County, NJ.). Rachel's brother Jacob Mattison; Find-A-Grave #52998929 married her husband's sister Ann (Hankinson) Mattison; Find-A-Grave #52998896 Hence, a brother and a sister married a brother and a sister. After the death of his first wife Ann Hanksinson, Jacob Mattison married the widow of William Bishop. Her named was Easter Henry Bishop. she was the daughter of Michael Henry; Find A Grave Memorial #57945407 and Jean Robertson Henry; Find A Grave Memorial #57945496 of Three Bridges Hunterdon County, NJ. William and Easter Henry Bishop had four children: Joseph, William, David and John Bishop. Rachel Mattison Hankinson married Joseph Hankinson on February 15, 1732 in Freehold, Monmouth County, NJ. Their children: Aaron, Thomas (1733-1784) married Jamina Stout, William married (1) Mary Evilman (2) Susanna DeWitt, John, Anne married Mr. Van Buskirk and Elizabeth (1748-1817) married John Reading.
