World War I United States Army Soldier. He served in the United States Army during World War I as a Lieutenant in the Medical Corps, 114th Infantry, 29th Infantry Division, AEF. He was killed in action on October 11, 1918 at Molbrouck Hill, Brabant, France.

He lies today in Plot B, Row 35, Grave 27 of the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery, Romagne, France.

A cenotaph was erected for him in his hometown of Cranbury, New Jersey in the Brainard Cemetery.
