Obituary

Anna Knapp, daughter of Newton and Margaret Knapp, was born in Putnam county, N.Y. , Mar. 14, 1851, died at her home five miles south of Allerton, Iowa, Nov. 16, 1904, aged 53 years, 8 months and two days.

She was married to Lewis Kelley Dec. 2, 1872, and to this union was born three children, two of whom survive to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother. Mrs. Kelley in life sought her Savior and has been a constant and faithful follower of her Heavenly Master ever since. The Bible was her guide and rule of life and she has gone to her reward.

The funeral services were held at the home on Friday, Nov. 19, and were in charge of Rev. H. C. Dameron of the M. P. church, assisted by Rev. W. H. Larrick of the M. E. church and Rev. H. G. Waggoner of Christian church. The short sermon was based on Isaiah xxxy, 10, and was full of consolation for the bereaved ones. A large measure of sympathy goes out to the bereaved husband, daughters and other relatives.

A very large number of sympathizing neighbors and friends attended the formal services and followed the remains to their last resting place in the Allerton cemetery.
