FLESHER
Bruce Henry Flesher, son of Henry Adam and Emma Melissa Sweet Flesher, was born January 29, 1900 in Fremont, Nebr. and passed away Friday, April 27, 1979, at the Chariton Manor at the age of 79 years, two months and 29 days.
Bruce moved to Iowa at the age of one. He grew up on the farm near Avoca. He was married to Orilda Gilbert in 1916, and to this union were born eight children.
He was a member of the Co-Op in Waukee for eight years and also a volunteer fireman.
He moved to Lucas County in 1953 and was employed by Johnson Ready-Mix for five years until his retirement.
Bruce was preceded in death by his wife, Orilda in 1976, and his son, Willis in 1972, and his parents.
He is survived by three sons, Willard Flesher of Lorimor, Darrell Flesher of Newburn, and Donald Flesher of Waukee; four daughters, Maxine Brittain of Corning, Melzine Roberts of Corydon, Darline Sedars of Adel, and Gayla Burk of Chariton; 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 30, at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Pearl Sams officiating. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
