Samuel Malone Taylor was born March 16, 1865 and departed this life Feb 13, 1930 at the age of 64 years, 10 mo 28 days. He was the son of the late Simeon and Rebecaa Taylor.
He was married July 2, 1890 to Jennie Carrell. He is survived by the wife and two sons. Charles of Indianapolis and Roy of Clinton, and 5 Grand-sons, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and a host of friends mourn his loss.
He was united with the Baptist Church in the fall of 1923 here in Clinton. For years he had been employed at the South City School.
In his passing, his family losses a loving husband and father - and Clinton one of its most respected citizens.
Earlier in his life, he tried to homestead 160 acres in Oklahoma Indian Territory (1905-1910+) but the corn crops failed, after which he traded his land for 2 wagons & teams to return to Indiana.
Member of UMW & I.O.O.F., Baptist Church.
