...A.E. Whicker, 61 years old, was found dead at his farm home seven miles northeast of Madison Saturday morning by earl King a neighbor.

Mr. Wicker was a quiet, unassuming man, minding his own business and managing his farm successfully. He was in comfortable circumstances but had lived alone for many years.

Approaching old age, failing health and loneliness had apparently made him morbid so he chose to quietly end it all.

He leaves three children, Mrs. Pearl Alley, who lives in Nebraska, Mrs. Esther White, Los Angeles, and Clifford Whicker. Mrs. White could not be her.

He was buried Monday afternoon at Rosean, north of Emporia, among his people. A delegation of Woodmen from the Summit lodge accompanied the relatives and conducted the burial service.

Amos Emery Whicker was born in Hendricks county, Ind., Dec. 11, 1866 and died April 10, 1929, at the age of 61 years, 4 months and 1 day. He was married to Myrtle Welsh in the year of 1887, she departing this life 16 years ago. To this union was born 3 children, one son and two daughters, all of whom survive, Clifford Whicker of Madison, Pearl Alley of Chalco, Neb., and Esther White of Los Angeles, also 11 grand children and 1 sister, Elva Earhart of Barkley, Kan.; also two brothers, James J. Whicker of Haskell, Okla., and Lewis E. Whicker of Emporia, Kan., and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Whicker was a kind and loving father and a good neighbor and was very much liked by all who knew him. He loved his Bible and lived a true Christian life. The deepest sympathy of a host of friends and relatives is extended to the bereaved relatives.
