Suggested edit: THE PARIS NEWS, Fri., Dec. 22, 1995, p.12A. ‘Monnie Felma Owens, 89, of Cherry Street Manor entered into Heaven’s gates at 10:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 1995, at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Health Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sat., Dec. 23, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in Mahoney Cemetery near Sulphur Springs. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Owens was born Jan. 16, 1906, in Hopkins County, a daughter of James Calvin and Ida Page Keelin. She married Theodore (Ted) Owens April 18, 1925. He died Feb. 5, 1956. She was a longtime member of Oak Park United Methodist Church and its Winmore Class. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Theda Owens of Powderly and Troy and Betty Owens of Marvin; one daughter and son-in-law, Glenna and Robert J. McQuerry of Bethany, OK; one brother, Marvin Keelin of Mahoney; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Don Woodard, Allen Woodard, Dwayne Woodard, Steven Owens, Jeff Owens and Rick Johnson.
