Charles was the son of Lonnie E Hall and Willie Mitchell. He was a veteran of World War I and an editor of the Breckenridge American.

He married Ruby Dean Moore Feb 12, 1926 in Waco, Texas. There are no known children from this marriage.

Charles Mitchell Hall, 77, served as editor of the Breckenridge American for 29 years. He began his newspaper career with the Dallas Times Herald. He was associated with the Dallas Morning News and newspapers in Austin, Laredo, Brownsville, Amarillo, Harlingen and Wago before moving to Breckenridge, Texas.

He moved with his family to Abilene, Texas in 1905 from Covington, Tennessee.

Charles Mitchell Hall married Mrs. Ruby Jackson in 1926 at Waco, Texas. The couple moved to Breckenridge, Texas in 1934 from Laredo, Texas.

Survived by his wife; one step-son - Harold Jackson; one step-daughter - Mrs. J.W. Wharton; two brothers - Lon Hall and Bill Hall; three sisters - Mrs. Byran Milburn, Mrs. Marc Stice, Mrs. John Kochedar.
