George L. Ball, 89, a resident of Buehler Home for many years, died at 9:24 p.m. yesterday at St. Francis Hospital, where he was admitted Monday.
Born Nov. 27, 1891 in Peoria to Jont H. and Barbara Reitchmidt Ball, he married Harriet T. Armstrong in 1915. She died in 1943. He then married Louise G. Cullum Forcum.
He worked in the plumbing and heating departments at Sears Roebuck and Co. and Montgomery Ward stores for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church and its senior citizens club, a 50-year member of the Peoria Lodge 15 AF&AM and the Glen Oak Senior Citizens Club. Surviving are his wife, one son, Glenn of Hardy, Ark.; two daughters, Mrs. Thelma J. McGrew of Sebastopol, Calif., Mrs. Russell (Shirley) Lindenfelser of Peoria; two step-daughters, Mrs. Virginia Starr of Modesta, Calif, and Mrs Beulah Stevenson of Miami Lake, Fla.; one step-ston, Kenneth Forcum of Creve Coeur; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Wilton Mortuary, the Rev. James H. Middleton officiating. Burial will bi in Springdale Cemetery and visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the mortuary. Masonic Lodge services will be at 8 p.m.
