From the Rutland Daily Herald and Globe, Dec. 11, 1878:
North Pawlet - Tuesday the oldest son of Fred Hollister (who moved from North Pawlet to Troy, N.Y. last spring) was brought to North Pawlet for burial. He died suddenly of membranous croup. He was first taken with diphtheria; after that the measles set in, and finally membranous croup, of which he died. He was a bright and interesting boy of 12 years.
