MRS. WILLIS JORDAN, 78, WAS BANGOR RESIDENT
Mrs. Louise Grace Jordan, 78, of 17 S. 3rd St., Bangor, died this morning at the Barto Nursing Home, Portland, after a long illness. Mrs. Jordan was the wife of Willis Jordan, former chief burgess of Bangor.
Born May 17, 1881 in Bangor, she was a daughter of the late Emery and Sarah Reimer Speer.
She was a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Bangor, and the Berean Class and Woman's Guild of the church; Bangor Senior Women's Club, and the auxiliary of the American Legion, Bangor. Mr. and Mrs. Jordan celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in September 1958.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Robert S., Bangor, and a daughter, Mrs. Charles Smith, Bangor; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Gold and Mrs. Everett Kent, and a brother, Reimer Speer, all of Bangor; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Schiavone Funeral Home, Bangor.
