Rose M. Sarna, age 64 of Jefferson, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 17 following a courageous battle with cancer. She died at Tri-Point Medical Center in Concord Twp.

She was born July 24, 1945 in Rome Twp., the daughter of Claude & Annabelle (Evans) Wessell and lived in Rome Twp. until moving to Jefferson in 1965.

Rose was known for her kind, unselfish and giving nature which will serve her well as an angel. Her family knows they were truly blessed to have such an amazing woman in there life and she will be greatly missed. She enjoyed genealogy, reading, poetry and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Together with her husband, they operated Sarna's Tree Farm. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church where she served on the deaconess board for many years.

Rose is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Donald E. Sarna, whom she married on June 12, 1965 at the Rock Creek Methodist Church, daughters, Shelly Sarna and Daisy (Louis) Asmus, both of Jefferson, grandchildren, Leana, Evan & Alex Sarna and Vanessa, Valarie, Spring & Trevor Burlingame and her siblings, Claudia Paul of Rome Twp., Betty Wessell of Jefferson, Jack Wessell of Rome, GA, Wynn Wessell of Rome Twp. & Kenny Wessell of Geneva.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude & Annabelle and brothers, Jerry, Lynn & Bob Wessell.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 A. M. at the First Baptist Church, 85 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Jerry Bentley officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6-8 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson First Baptist Church Camp Koinonia Scholarship Fund at the above address or Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, OH 44004.
