OBITUARY Iron River Reporter Jan 25 1995 "Obituaries: John Dobson"
IRON RIVER-John R. Dobson, 94, of 105 Angeli Road, died Jan. 21 at Iron River Nursing Home.
He was born March 24, 1900 in Crystal Falls. The son of the late John and Matilda Dobson was a lifelong resident and attended the Iron River schools. On March 24, 1932 he married the former Marion Ullius in Iron River. The couple celebrated their 62 wedding anniversary in 1994. He worked for various logging companies as a sawyer for many years, retiring in 1967. He was an avid outdoorsman and gardener. He was preceded in death by a son Ellis Dobson; a daughter Joyce Lofgren; three brothers, Albert, George and Bill; two sisters, Elizabeth and Dorothy; and a grandson John R. Dobson.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Jack and Glenn of Iron River and LeRoy of Caspian; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. H. William Dummer, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Iron River, officiating.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Robert, Steve, Glenn and David Dobson, Don Bomaster and Mark Stauber.
Organist Luella Ambach will accompany soloist Myrna Cook on musical selections "Beyond the Sunset" and "The Pearly Gates Will Open."
Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
