Conway- Mrs. Roxie Jordan Hucks, 81, wife of the late Ben T. Hucks of 1602 Sessions St. died April 14, 1986. Mrs. Hucks was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late James Thomas Jordan & Mattie Jane Todd Jordan. She was a member of North Conway Baptist Church.
Surviving are 2 sons, Albert W. Hucks of Aynor & Billy Hucks of Columbia. Seven daughters, Adelaide H. Miles of Columbia, Ruby H. Cooper of Charleston, Barbara H. Atkins of Va Beach, VA, Hilda H. Baxley, Dorothy H. Edwards both of Aynor, Pat H. Richardson of Myrtle Beach & Carole H. Ulisano of New York. Two sisters: Bessie J. Jones of Gal. Ferry & Ruby J. Hyman of Myrtle Beach. 29 grandchildren & 16 g-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 pm today at North Conway Bapt. Church with Rev. Derris Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Bapt. Church Cemetery, directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home. The family suggests sending memorials to N. Conway Bapt. Church.
Roxie Jordan was the 3rd child of James Thomas Jordan & Martha "Mattie" Jane Todd Jordan. She married Ben T. Hucks in 1921 & to this union was born 10 (9 made it to adulthood).
Roxie Jordan & Ben T. Hucks celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1971 at N. Conway Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Sessions St., Conway, SC. Given by their children.
