While in school, he had played soccer. He also had played rugby for the NE States Rugby Club. He enjoyed fishing and kayaking. He was employed by Frank W. Whitcomb Construction Co.

Carr and his partner, Julie Kelley, of Bellows Falls, Vt.; his mother, Cheryl Clark and her husband, Michael, of Pittsfield; his fiancee, Stephanie Barton, and their unborn daughter, Alexis Ann Carr, of Pittsfield; his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Ann Carr of Barnstead; his maternal grandmother, Evelyn Tasker of Epsom; a sister, Sierra Rollins; two nieces, Kate and Lexi of Pittsfield; and an aunt, Nancy Carr of Barnstead.
