Kathleen Nelson Dorminy, 88, of Ocilla, Georgia died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Tift Regional Hospital in Tifton.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Ocilla Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Thomas officiating and eulogies by Al Dorminy and Eric Nappier. Interment will follow in Enigma Cemetery in Enigma, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 Monday evening.
Mrs. Dorminy was born June 15, 1916, in Pulaski County, Georgia, to the late George Albert Nelson and Nettie Stephens Nelson. Mrs. Dorminy was a homemaker and former schoolteacher in Perry, Georgia and Pulaski County, Georgia. She attended Georgia State College for Women and the University of Georgia. An active member of the Ocilla Baptist Church, Mrs. Dorminy was a member of the Hannah-Lydia Sunday School class, taught Sunday School at the church, local nursing homes and personal care homes. She was a volunteer for the Blue-Gray Community Hospice and a member of the Sewing Club.
Mrs. Dorminy is survived by a daughter: Phyllis D. Nappier, Ocilla; son: A.C. "Al" (Betsy) Dorminy, Jr., Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren: Eric (Joy) Nappier, Jacksonville, FL and Kathleen Grace Dorminy, Atlanta; one great granddaughter: Maria Lockerby Nappier, Jacksonville, FL; and one sister Tommie Hunt, Perry, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Clayton "A.C." Dorminy, one brother and one sister.
