Elias married Surrilda Crabtree & migrated from Indiana to Casto Valley near Hartshorn. MO. in 1847. During the Civil War Elias & Surrilda moved to Illinois where several of their children were born. After the war they returned to the Hartshorn area.
Their son James Allen was a farmer & owned & operated the White Rose Flour Mill in Hartshorn from just prior to WW1 to the early 1930's.
