Josephus Charles Stockton Sr., 90, Granby, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 1972, at his home in Granby. Mr. Stockton was born Jan. 9, 1882, in Boston Mountain, Ark., the son of Elliot Stockton and Mary Catherine (Henson) Stockton. He attended the Granby Miracle Church of Granby.
He married Miss Sarah Elizabeth Plummer 28 July 1902 in Newton County, MIssouri. She died July 20, 1947. He married Mrs. Eva Abbi (Herald) Huntley15 May 1948 in Newton County, Missouri. She died February 02, 1970.
Surviving are four sons, Charles F. Stockton, Cassville, Fred Birdie Stockton, Granby, Victor Thomas Stockton, Nevada, and Josephus Charles Stockton Jr., state of Calf.; two daughters, Mrs. Fern Wicker, Granby, and Mrs. Stella Dilworth, Carthage; 29 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the Clark-Shewmake Chapel in Granby. The Rev. Fred Franks will officiate and burial will be in the Granby Memorial Cemetery, Granby.
