Miss Clara Petersen, daughter of Anton Petersen and wife, passed away at the home of her parents in Audubon township on last Friday night. The funeral services were held at the home Monday noon and the interment was in the Exira cemetery. She was sick but a week with inflammation of the stomach and appendicitis. She was nineteen the day before her demise. She was born in Shelby county. Besides the parents, she leaves five sisters and five brothers to mourn over her untimely death. All but three of the children live here. One sister lives in Montana and two in other parts of Iowa. The parents, brothers and sisters have the sincere sympathy of all their neighbors and many friends. -Anita Tribune, August 29, 1918
