Abele and confirmed March 25, 1932 by Rev. J.M. Hertel. His memory verse was John 3:5 "Varily, varily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God."

He was married to Wilma Schacht, November 1, 1968, at the Osage Church by Rev. F. Kruse. Harvey farmed and was custodian of the Talmage School for 14 years. He was a lifetime member of Osage Church, where he taught Sunday School for many years including each of his three step-children. He was on the church board, sang in the choir and a member of the men's brotherhood. He was on the Cook Town Board and Cook Fire Department, for many years. Harvey enjoyed reading, watching TV, playing cards, visiting and yard work. He and Wilma enjoyed many vacations together including Hawaii and Germany. They also attended many Nebraska basketball games, including a tournament game in New York City.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Wilma, step-children, Eleanor Kraenow and husband Robert, Ray Schacht and wife Sonja, Marlene Hupka and husband Michael; five step-grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren, also surviving are nephews, Robert Niedermeyer and wife, Debbi and family, Rand Niedermeyer; brother-in-law, John Staack and wife, Mary; and sister-in-law, Etta McCammon and husband James. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph and his wife, Ruth Niedermeyer; and brother-in-law, Glen and wife, Jane Staack; sister-in-law, Eunice Edwards.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 9, 2010, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, (Osage), rural Cook, Neb., with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. all at the Funeral Home. Family suggest memorials to the St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage). Fusselman Allen Harvey Funeral Home, Syracuse, Neb.
