Services for Marie DeWitt, 85, of
Americus, were Saturday at Jackson
Funeral Home, Delphi, with burial in
Spring Vale Cemetery, Lafayette.
She died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday,
March 7,1979, at St. Elizabeth Hospital,
Lafayette.
Born Jan. 21, 1894, in Tippecanoe
County, she was the daughter of Edward
and Luela Grooms Clark. She was
married July 19, 1913, to John F.
DeWitt, who died in 1958.
She was a lifetime resident of the
Americus and Buck Creek area and
was a charter member of the Carpenter’s
Auxiliary.
Surviving are three daughters,
Mildred Booth of Battleground, and
Helen Fagan and Betty Thompson, both
of Lafayette; three grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren, and one greatgreat-
grandchild.
