Frieda M Erickson, age 95, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Ashland Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Ashland. She was born December 30, 1914, in Newton, KS, the daughter of Albert and Maria (Roth) Zaugg.
She graduated from Ashland High School in 1932. She married Milton A Lundberg in Ashland. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1963. Frieda worked as a nurse's aide and was the supervisor of the Zaugg Nursing Homes, in Ashland and Mellen. She married Carl W Erickson in Ashland. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2007.(He was born November 19, 1918). She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, in Ashland and the DAV Women's Auxiliary, in Ashland. Frieda enjoyed playing piano and violin and volunteered her time by playing at the nursing homes. She loved taking pictures and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by three children, Carl E (Judy) Erickson, Ashland, Brenda Erickson, Ashland and Linda (Tom) Larson, Eau Claire; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a special cousin, Art (Barb) Zaugg, Tomahawk; and nieces and nephews.
Besides her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Marvin, who died in Vietnam.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the First Assembly of God Church, in Ashland, with Pastor Steven McGinnis officiating.
Interment will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery, in Ashland. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, on Saturday, at the church. Arrangements are by the Roberts Funeral Home, in Ashland.
