Mr. Picot was born in Como, N.C., and was a Baptist. He had formerly owned Picot Furniture Store on Plume Street. He was a member of Civitan Club of Norfolk, Norfolk Sports Club and Elks Club of College Place.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Maggiore of Virginia Beach; and two grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Dale Burden. Friends may join the family at the home of Barbara Maggiore. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a favorite charity.
