COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Ruby Jewell Burgess, 71, will be held Wednesday, May 13, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Cemetery.
Family will receive friends today, Tuesday, May 12, from 3-8 p.m. and Wednesday, May 13, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Ms. Burgess died Monday, May 11, 2009, at her residence.
She was born April 6, 1938, in Jackson County to the late Ben and Clara Davidson Birdwell.
Ms. Burgess was retired from Russell Stover Candy Co. after 28 years as a line operator. She was a member of Locust Grove Church of Christ.
Her family includes a brother, Charles Birdwell of Baxter; two sisters, Elise Lambert of Bloomington Springs and Treva Thomas of Algood; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Burgess was preceded in death by two brothers, John A. and Earl Birdwell, and two sisters, Estelle Billingsley and Eudell Flatt.
Pallbearers will be Ms. Burgess' nephews.
Bro. David Flatt will officiate at the services.
