Emma Rebecca MILLER, 1832-1850, married 1847, Edgefield, Edgefield County, South Carolina, [CSA Colonel] James Benjamin GRIFFIN, 1825-1881, son of James II GRIFFIN, 1782-1855, formerly of Newberry County, South Carolina, late of Edgefield, Edgefield County, South Carolina.
The two were married in the fall of 1847, when GRIFFIN has just turned twenty-two and his bride was fifteen.
Fifteen months after their marriage, J. B. GRIFFIN and Rebecca had a son, James William , 'called Willie' GRIFFIN. The following year, the couple was expecting another child, but in September 1850 eighteen-year old Rebecca and their second son died in childbirth.
J. B. GRIFFIN's first wife, Emma Rebecca MILLER, 1832-1850, was buried at Antioche Church with their infant son.
