Eileen Marguerite Ebertowski, 67 of Los Angeles, California, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 23. Though her mind was still fighting, her body succombed after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Eileen was born January 19, 1943, in Cresco Iowa where she lived until graduating from Crestview High School. She was the daughter of Raymond and Juanita (Gager) Krueger; who preceded her in death. Eileen briefly lived in Winona, MN where she attended and graduated from cosmetology school. She then lived in Rochester for forty years while raising her family and running her drapery business. Upon retirement Eileen moved to sunny L.A. where she has spent the last five years.

Eileen was a fun, energetic woman who enjoyed life by spending time with friends and family, traveling the world, attending theatre, gardening, baking, and movie night. She was well known for her delectable pies, sewing soft flannel binkies for new babies and for being willing to take on the role of "Scar" when oldest her granddaughter wanted to play "Lion King".

She is survived by her daughter Lonnie (Greg) of Minneapolis, MN, her daughter Gwen (Terry) of Los Angeles, CA, her son Randy (Andrea) of Antioch, IL and by her four very loved grandchildren, Emma, Anna, Victoria and Cooper. Also surviving Eileen are her three siblings, two brothers Mick (Helen) of Cresco, IA and Allan (Jane) of Cresco, IA and one sister Barb of Decorah, IA. Numerous other special people found Eileen to be a nurturing friend, surrogate Mom or Grandmother.

Friends may call at the Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, Minnesota on Friday, July 16th, from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Eileen's name to the "Sarcoma Alliance". They are an organization that helps those fighting the very aggressive type of cancer that she battled. Interment will be in the New Oregon Cemetery, Cresco, Iowa at noon on Saturday, July 17. A luncheon at the Cresco VFW will follow.
