JOHN, probably the eldest of John Hoskins' 3 children, was born by about 1613. A John Hoskins is admitted to freemanship on 14 May 1634, and twice in 1634 there are references to "John Hoskins Sr.," which implies the presence of a younger adult of the same name in Dorchester. There is no further record of this man, and no certainty that he was son of John Sr.
Source: Anderson's Great Migration Begins, which contends that there is no evidence for the identity of Hoskins's wife as Ann Filer, and that Anthony and Rebecca are more likely his nephew and niece, or even totally unrelated.

Maude (Hoskins) Dillon had a Hoskins Family History book complied by several Hoskins Family members. In this book, it states that John Hoskins, Jr was the oldest son, so John had to have been born by or before 1609, because Thomas Hoskins was born abt 1610.
Anne Filer could not have been birth mother to either John Hoskins, Jr or Thomas because Anne was born in 1600. She would have been a child when they were born.
The book also states that John Hoskins, Jr stayed in England and succeeded his father as Baronet.
: John Hoskins was born in 1613 and Anne Fyler in 1600. Their first two children were born in 1610 and 1615, Anthony in 1632. Anne would have been 10 years old when John was born and 15 when Katherine was born. Seems if something is off here, especially the age gap between Katherine and Anthony.
