Mrs. Maggie Thomson Dead
Monday afternoon Mrs. John W. Townsen received the sad news of the death, last Saturday morning, of her niece, Mrs. Maggie Thomson, at Crowell, Foard county, in Northwest Texas.
Citizens of Lampasas twenty years ago will remember little Maggie Hill, a sweet and winsome child, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Hill, both now deceased.
In December, 1880, the family moved to Georgetown, and from there to Taylor, where the subject of this notice was married to Joseph Thomson in 1889. A few years since they moved to the plains country.
Mrs. Thomson was in her 27th year, born in Lampasas June, 1872.
Deceased was a devout Christian, a faithful and devoted wife, a tender and patient mother, was kind and obliging to all about her, all of which characteristics she inherited from her sainted mother.
A husband and two little children; two brothers (Richard and Harry Hill); an aged grandmother; four aunts; two uncles; and numerous other relatives mourn not as those who have no hope, for the last thing she said was, "I am going to Heaven; I am nearly there." None could thus face death except those whose faith is fixed on Him who said, "I will be with you to the end of the world."
May the God of all grace comfort the aching hearts of all the mourning relatives in this, their sore trial.
The Leader extends sympathy and condolence.
