Mrs. McKeever Buried at Spur

Mrs. Alice Octavia McKeever, 79, Aspermont resident since 1942, died at 11:05 p.m. Friday at Hamlin Memorial Hospital. She has suffered a stroke earlier Friday and was admitted to the hospital. She had been in ill health for some time.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the First Methodist Church here, with the Rev. Oran D. Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Spur, TX Cemetery.

Mrs. McKeever was born Oct 12, 1880, in Alexandria, La. She married John C McKeever on Dec 29, 1902 at Anson. They moved to Dickens County in 1908 and lived there until moving to Aspermont in 1942.

Survivors include her husband; seven daughters, Mrs. Winnie Bigham of Abilene, Mrs. Lois Barber of Fairbanks, Alaska, Mrs. Odell Wilson of Irving, Mrs. Ruby Lightfoot of Clovis, N.M., Mrs. Johnnie Hardy and Mrs. Laferne Simmons both of Oil Center N.M. and Mrs. Verita Campbell of Hollywood, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Lonnie Gilmore of Crosbyton and Mrs. John Aston of Spur; four brothers, George Crump of Crosbyton, John Crump of Lubbock, Leslie Crump of Escondido, Calif and Jim Crump of Monahans; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were L D Trammel, Sr., J. W. Rollings, Albert Baugh, Lester Hill, Sam Payne and Lee Smith.
