The sisters did visit often with there aunt, Mrs. John H. Broocks(Elizabeth Jerome Polk) in San Augustine, TX and other relatives such as Judge Alfred Polk and wife Nancy Polk, also of San Augustine, TX.
On Oct 3,1881 Elizabeth DeKalb Davenport and Dr. Samuel Miller Gladney were married.
They were the parents of the following children:
* Donald Ross, b.April 27,1885
* Mary Eugenia, b. June 25, 1891
* Jane Ross, b. March 31, 1895
* Samuel M., b. Nov 25 1898
