Bessie Marie Childers Huffman, 95, died at 4:50 p.m. Monday in Wesleyan Health Care Center.
She was born in Chicot County, Ark. to the late Peter Michael and Etta Cordelia (Harris) LaFlower and had been a resident of Marion since 1935. She married George Huffman. He preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 1988.
Bessie was a homemaker and a member of Grace Community Church. She was a volunteer at the Senior Center and Emily Flynn.
Survivors include a son, Merrill (Charlotte) Childers, Marion; daughter, Darlene Parker, Sacramento, Calif.; grandchildren, Cindy Childers, Julia McClanahan and Brian (Tammy) Childers, all of Marion, Fredrick Parker and Christopher Parker, both of Sacramento, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Erica (Shadel) Brading, Brooke Young, Taylor McClanahan, Brandon Childers, Tyson Carter, Megan Lynn Parker; and great-great-grandchildren, Dylan Brading, Camron Stewart, Dawson Brading and Izaiah Young.
Services are at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Needham-Storey-Wampner, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, with Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial is in Grant Memorial Park.
