Carterville --Lucille A. Northup, 84, 213 N. Tennessee Ave., died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday at McCune-Brooks Hospital, Carthage, after a long illness.
Mrs. Northup was born Dec. 16, 1911, at Paola, Kan. She lived in Carterville most of her life.
She worked for Walt's Shoe Store, Joplin, for 15 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Carterville United Methodist church for more than 70 years. She was the former state president of the PTA in Carterville.
She married Harold R. Northup on Dec. 17, 1933, at Carthage. He died June 7, 1962.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Northup, Lowell, Ark., and Phil Northup, Joplin; a daughter, Carolyn Crabtree, Shell Knob; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home, Webb City. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage.
Pallbearers will be Barry Duncan, Kent Offill, Joe Naberhaus, Bob Boles, Steve Ragain, Dennis Brown and Joey Pianalto.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home."
