Mrs. Eliza Jenkins Ison, aged 81, widow of Zach T. Ison, died November 5, at her home in Burgin. Mrs. Ison who was one of the prominent women of that place, had been an invalid since a stroke of paralysis three years ago. She was a woman who was much respected and liked, as she lived up to her Christian professions made when she joined the Methodist church about fifty-four years ago. Her funeral was on Saturday afternoon at the Burgin Methodist church, conducted by Rev. W. D. Moore, Rev. H. O. Nicely and Rev. F. D. Swanson. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Eight sons and a daughter survive. They are John, Henry, Frank, Charles, Sam, Hugh and Josh Ison of this place; James Ison, California, and Mrs. Sallie Ison Bowman, of Cincinnati.
