Mr. Stephens was born June 18, 1926, in Five Points, Ala. He was a resident of Pampa from 1944 until his death. He owned and operated Stephens Truck and Equipment since the 1960s. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Top O' Texas Masonic Lodge No. 1381 AF&AM.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Stephens and wife, Paula, of Dallas; a daughter, Judy Magness and husband, Larry, of Opelika, Ala.; a brother, W.C. Stephens of Chambers County, Ala.; and a grandson, Jonathan Magness of Graz, Austria. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ona Marie Barker, beside whom he is buried.
