Nannie died in childbirth or shortly afterward in 1875. She was buried with infant son that was named Brutus. Some grandchildren thought that her name was Nancy, some thought Nannie. Her daughter Blanche's husband thought that her name was Jane Moore.
Census records show numerous Moore families in Ouachita County, Arkansas; however, numerous households list a child named Nancy, none with the correct date. The courthouse burned in 1871 and destroyed all the vital records of the county. Other indications are that Nannie was born in Mississippi. Surviving children were daughters Luella, Blanche, Savannah, and son George Hector.
