The Ramsay family owned and operated some stores over eighty years until Cousin Robert Condon's sons, Bob and Jimmie, sold their Carthage & Joplin stores in 1972 to Vandever Incorporated of Oklahoma, with their closing 30 August 1976 or '79. At least the Joplin and Atchison store buildings seemingly survived with civic activities in the twenty-first century.
