~ worked in father's dry good store while in Guthrie, Oklahoma Territory, then in 1907 at Atchison, Kansas.

Census: 1910, age 17 Atchison, Atchison county, Kansas with parents & two younger sisters at 613, father a dry goods merchant.

~ 26 JUL 1910, return from Southampton, England to New York aboard vessel Kaiser Wilhelm II

~ attended and graduated from Culver Military academy, then the University of Kansas.

~ World War I Draft, 5 JAN 1917, Atchison county, Kansas, age 26 single, med height & build, Blu-grey eyes, blonde hair at 613 Lumarie street, in dry goods sales, serving eighteen months in the military.

~ 29 JUN 1919, return from Liverpool to New York aboard vessel Ordane.

Census: 1920, age 26 Atchison, Atchison county, Kansas single with parents & two younger sisters, at 613 Jackson street, he and father in dry goods business.

~ Ronald, like his father afore him, was very active in local civic activities in Atchison county, Kansas.

In part store and family's history found in November 22, 1939, The Atchison Daily Globe from Atchison, Kansas, Page 13 and in the Joplin Globe, p 4, c 2&3, Joplin, Missouri, 26 September 1946, also, it was 1946, following death of both founders, Ramsay Dry Goods company initiated a government approved employee pension plan as noted in the local newspapers, greatly benefiting their employees well being. Also for a good history of store growth and its 25 April 1952, 62nd Anniversary article.

~ Ronald and cousin Robert Condon agreed around 1958 to splitting of their father's Ramsay Bros Dry Good company with Ronald H keeping the northern stores and Robert C the southern group of stores. The Ramsay family owned and operated some stores over eighty years until Cousin Robert Condon's sons, Bob and Jimmie, sold their Carthage & Joplin stores in 1972 to Vandever Incorporated of Oklahoma, with their closing 30 August 1976 or '79. At least the Joplin and Atchison store buildings seemingly survived with civic activities in the twenty-first century.

~ The Ramsay home at 1415 Riverview drive, built 1948, was atop a bluff overlooking the Missouri river, now on National Register of Historic Places.

~ lost first wife, mother of their children, in 1966.
