A daughter of William Dever and Louisa McDowell Dever, she was born Feb. 4, 1855, in the old Dever homestead in Madison twp near the Jackson county line. On Jan. 6, 1874 she was wed to William R. Micklethwait. He died in 1928.

Mrs. Micklethwait was a lifelong member of the Methodist church having in turn belonged to the Spencer chapel, the Sixth st. and Trinity Methodist churches.

The nonagenarian was the mother of four children, three of whom survive, Dr. Oscar R. Micklethwait, Dr. William D. Micklethwait, 1112 Second st, and Miss Louise Micklethwait of Scioto trail. A son, Atty. Joseph T. Micklethwait, preceded her in death in 1923. Six sisters and a brother also are deceased.

Other survivors beside her children are two grandsons, Roy Micklethwait of this city and Kenneth Micklethwait of Detroit, and a sister, Mrs. Jane Johnson of Albany, O.

The body is at the Oscar Micklethwait home on the trail, where last rites will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Dr. William Steffens of Trinity Methodist church officiating. Interment will be in the new mausoleum in Greenlawn under direction of Daehler funeral home.
