Santo was the son of Gandolfo Viviano and Gandolfa Russo Alessi. He was the husband of Giuseppa Battaglia. Santo Viviano immigrated to the United States on February 2,1909 arriving at Ellis Island. He was about 25 years old. His wife Giuseppa joined him in the United States one year later with their young son Gandolfo.
