Mary Hite was born in Virginia ca 1754, the daughter of Jacob and Catherine O'Bannon Hite.
She married, probably about 1772, the Reverend Nathaniel Manning, with whom she had two sons,
-- Jacob Hite Manning, who married Mary Darke (Rutherford)
-- Nathaniel Manning, who married Euphemia Lacey
Mary was widowed in 1777.
She remarried, probably about 1788/9, William Bushby, with whom she had three daughters:
-- Eliza Hite Bushby, who married Jonathan Roberts
-- Catherine Bruce Bushby, who married Bishop Beverly Waugh
-- Mary Hite Bushby, who married Edward Fitzgerald
According to her obituary in the National Intelligencer, Mary died Feb 3, 1818 at the age of 64 in the Roberts household. It is presumed that she is buried in this cemetery. No headstone could be found but there are numerous headstones that can no longer be read.
