She was a member of the Pequea E.C. Church of Gap. She enjoyed playing bingo and collecting owls. In the past she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Lancaster.
Surviving are four children: Charlotte Fay Huyett of Kinzers, George R., husband of Mary Bunting Summers of Elkton, MD; Gary M., husband of Nancy R. Reid Summers of Gap; Eugene L., husband of Lorraine Zimmerman Summers of New Holland; 19 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren, brother: A. Clair, husband of Patricia Ranck of Strasburg. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard E. Summers, Sr., husband of June Witmer Summers of Lancaster. She was also preceded in death, by 8 siblings.
Funeral service will take place from the Pequea Evangelical Congregational Church, 5482 Old Philadelphia Pike, Gap, PA on Tuesday, July 13th at 11 a.m. with Pastor Greg Dimick and Pastor Melvin Stehr officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Arrangements by the Shivery Funeral Home, Inc., Christiana & Paradise.
