Stella May Riddle,87, Purdy, died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 1997 at her daughter's home in Teresita after a short illness. Mrs. Riddle was born Dec. 26, 1909, at Ramona, Okla. She was a housewife. She was a Presbyterian. She married Elva Dennis Riddle on Oct 23, 1928, at Sapulpa, Okla. He died Dec. 4, 1993. Survivors include five sons, James Riddle, Purdy, Doyle Riddle, Kansas City, JeRoy Riddle, Anaheim, Calif.,Richard Riddle, Holt, and Ronnie Riddle, Carthage;five daughters, Catherine Sapp, Hemit, Calif., Barbara Batson, Pierce City, Florence Irene Hancock, Carthage, and Sharon Wood, Teresita; a brother Arthur Taylor, Hollister, two sisters, Gladys Wolfe, Fullerton, Calif. and Pearl Weaver, Cassville; 36 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren. She was proceded in death by two daughters and a son. Services will be at 10 am. Saturday at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Chapel, Monett. The Rev. Mark Mildren will officiate. Burial will be in Monett IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
