Mrs. Ella Macy Allee, 78, prominent Lynnville woman, died Thursday, Sept.9, 1937 at her home in Lynnville, following a longer illness of pernicious anemia. She had been bedfast for 18 months.
She was born July 29, 1859 in Poweshiek County, the daughter of Seth and Abbie Macy.
On Aug. 5, 1875, she was united in marriage to W.R. Allee and to this union three children were born.
Mr. Allee preceded his wife in death in 1934, and two daughers, Mrs. Lexie Dearinger and Abbie Allee, died in 1918 and 1902, respectively.
Surviving are a son, Leonard Allee of Lynnville; seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and two brothers, E.B. Macy and Harlan Macy of Lynnville.
She was a sister of the late C.O. Macy of Lynnville, who was the first of the family of four children to die.
