Susie Lapota left her parents in Male Ozirovce, Slovakia. She traveled to the USA and started a new life in Illinois including a birth of a daughter named Marye Wilhemina Putzy. Susie and her husband (Andrew Putzy) with her child Marye left for Wyoming where Andrew could work. In 1921 he fell ill from all the cole mining. He never lived another year. Susie ended up with 8 children to raise by herself. Marye already left home. She moved to Price County, Wisconsin. Later, when her oldest daughter (Marye) left to find better work. Marye finally made Portland, Oregon her home.
One by one all but two of her sister's and brother's followed her to Oregon. Susie died with family around her in 1953.
