Obituary in The Observer, Newberry, SC, 11 May 1994: Cleo Myrtle Boland Metts, 85, of Little Mountain, widow of Ernest Lester Metts, died Tuesday morning May 10, 1994, at White Oak Manor. Born January 26, 1909, in Little Mountain, Mrs. Metts was a daughter of the late Patrick and Claton Alice Bowers Boland. She was a homemaker and a retired from Prosperity Manufacturing Co. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. Mrs. Metts is survived by a son, Everette L. Metts of Little Mountain; a daughter, Mrs. George (Mary Alice) Frick of Little Mountain; seven grandchildren, Randy Frick, Lynn F. Shealy, Karen F. Davis, Von Metts, Bernie Metts, Melvin Metts and Janet Holley; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dr. Osborne Herlong. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
