Cecil Carl Redden, 88, died at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Hamilton Friday afternoon, June 12, 1998. Services were held June 13 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wesley Jones officiating.

Burial was in the Hurst Ranch Cemetery near Star.

Mr. Redden was born Dec. 9, 1909 at Shive. He was the son of the late Grover C. Redden and the late Ethel Ledbetter Redden.

He married Leota Williams on Dec. 14, 1933. They shared 64 years of life together.

He was a member of the Baptist Church and was retired from the Texas Highway Department. He was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife of Hamilton and a son, Charles M. Redden of Dallas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Carl Edward Redden, and one sister and one brother.
