Son of Osmon L. and Edna Rose (Baker) Bushong Sr. He married Shirley Ann Rich on April 4, 1959, in Peoria. She passed away on Jan. 19, 2006, at her home.
He was also preceded in death by his father and one brother, Jim Bushong.
Surviving are his mother; children, Kimberly K. (Rodney E. Sr.) Hamilton and Osmon L. Trey (Marcela) Bushong III; three grandchildren, Rodney Hamilton Jr., Randy (Tina Pier) Hamilton and Shawneen (Rayfield) Rogers; two great-grandchildren, Alec Hamilton and Kahana Rogers; one brother, Jerry (Laura Mae) Bushong; and one sister, Janice Beebe.
Osmon was an Army veteran.
He worked as a boilermaker and was a member of Boilermakers Local 60 in Morton for many years before retiring in the '80s.
