Dr. Gemmill practiced medicine at Alexandria and afterwards at Altoona. Finally he and his wife moved to Philadelphia and there he died March 21, 1890, at the age of 85 years. He was buried at Alexandria.
Dr. Gemmill was an active Presbyterian elder in Altoona and Philadelphia, and, as a singer and choir leader, was remarkable for his deep bass voice.
He was also a man of more than ordinary force.
