The funeral service for lifelong farmer Murray Taylor of Dresden will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Joe Walker Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday and after 11 a.m. Saturday.

Taylor, 84, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Weakley County Rehab and Nursing Center in Dresden.

Locally, he leaves a nephew: James (Sue) Chappell; and a niece: Ann (Ray) Hill, both of Paris.

Taylor was born in Dresden on April 1, 1926, the son of Luther A. and Iva Ethel Bass Taylor, now both deceased.

His wife, Rebekah Scott Taylor, preceded him in death.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He also leaves four other nieces and nephews: Kenneth (Susan) Taylor, Bobby (Terri) Taylor and Sandra (Louis) Rathbun, all of Lansing, Mich., and Debra Taylor of Colorado; and a special friend: Garry Mansfield of Dresden.

He also was preceded in death by two sisters: Dovie Mae Summers and Audrey Chappell; and two brothers: Warner and Ralph Taylor.
